D. Brian Rattliff was born in Campbellsville, Kentucky. He attended Campbellsville College where he graduated summa cum laude and was the valedictorian of his graduating class. Brian then attended the University of Virginia Law School where he was a member of Law Review and The Order of the Coif, graduating in the top 10% of his class.


After law school, and before joining Bubalo, Hiestand & Rotman, Brian spent 14 years practicing as a trial lawyer with the firm of Ogden Newell & Welch. Thereafter, he spent 8 years as a trial lawyer with the firm of Watkins & Barth.


Brian has over 22 years experience as a trial lawyer. That experience includes practice in the areas of property and casualty insurance, products liability, medical and other professional negligence, and general appellate work before both state and federal courts. He is knowledgeable in virtually all aspects of insurance law, and frequently lectures at continuing legal education seminars on insurance law topics.


Brian is admitted to practice in the state and federal courts of Kentucky, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit and the United States Supreme Court. He is rated "AV" (the highest rating possible) by the Martindale-Hubbell Law Directory.
