Stacy HullettMs. Dougherty joined Bubalo, Hiestand and Rotman in 2009. Specializing in complex pharmaceutical mass tort, personal injury and medical malpractice litigation, Ms. Dougherty is passionate about helping catastrophically injured individuals and effectuating positive change through the judicial system. Ms. Dougherty appears in court on civil litigation matters, summary judgment hearings, pre-trial conferences, medical malpractice tribunals, extensive discovery and evidentiary motion arguments and at trial.

Prior to joining BHR, Ms. Dougherty practiced mass tort, medical malpractice, and  pharmaceutical, antitrust and consumer protection class-action lawsuits.  She has successfully negotiated significant pre-suit personal injury settlements and mediated several substantial recoveries in pharmaceutical liability tort actions across the country. Ms. Dougherty has also served as a panelist on programs in the Boston area.

A member of the Bar of Massachusetts since 2003, Ms. Dougherty is also a member of the American Association for Justice, the Massachusetts Academy of Trial Attorneys (MATA) and the Women's Bar Association (WBA) of Massachusetts. She is on the Board of Governors of MATA and the Co-chair of the Women's Caucus. She was recently re-elected to a second two-year term on the Board of Directors for the WBA and she is a pro-bono mentor attorney with the Women's Bar Foundation representing victims of domestic violence.  She will again Co-chair of the WBA Gala in 2010.

In 2009, Ms. Dougherty was selected as a “New England Rising Star” by Super Lawyers. In 2008, Ms. Dougherty was recognized by Massachusetts Lawyer's Weekly as one of 25 “Rising Stars.” The award recognizes lawyers who have been members of the bar for 10 years or less who have already distinguished themselves and are poised for greater accomplishments.

Ms. Dougherty received her J.D. in 2003 from Northeastern University School of Law. She also has a Master’s degree in Social Work from Columbia University and a bachelor’s degree magna cum laude in psychology from Clark University and was elected to Phi Beta Kappa in 1997.
